| error with quotes in phpbb/phpnuke
I cannot enter single or double quotes in the phpbb forums built into phpnuke 6.9 I am not sure if this is a new problem or not. when a single or double quote is anywhere in the post (don't, isn't, 'A', etc) it gives this error: Quote:
Error in posting
DEBUG MODE
SQL Error : 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '
INSERT INTO nuke_bbposts_text (post_id, post_subject, bbcode_uid, post_text) VALUES (182, '', '15fbd375ba', ')
Line : 319
File : yada\yada\includes\functions_post.php
| I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with mysql though. I have a standalone version of phpbb2.0.6 on the same pc and it works fine.
when i enter 2 single quotes together, a blank post shows. I have reuploaded the functions_post.php file, and that didnt work. i have also tried phpbb.com and nukecops.com
someone just posted on nukecops that it may be related to the coppermine module. maybe he is onto something.

That's strange, is your coppermine gallery sharing the same DB as your forum?
I've been using phpbb for a long time without problems even after installing coppermine, however in my case, coppermine is independent from the forum directories and DB.
It appears that the text of your posts is going through an execution process when it should just be stored in your DB.
To test it try typing this: Don \ 't
remove spaces

The quote and double-quote isn't being escaped properly before being used in the query. That's what it looks to to me. |

it is using the same db.
are you using phpnuke too CM?
what i think is interesting is that coppermine themselves have the error, so it has to be a bug. but no one seems to care there. |

i moved the scrolling recent pictures block from the left to the right, and now it works. so something with that block was interfering.
i told coppermine about it, hopefully they can find the problem. |

no i dont use phpnuke.
The people at coppermine don't seem to be very friendly or helpful. A member in their forum was requesting a specific feature and the creator of coppermine replied along the lines of 'WTF would anyone want something like that and who is going to write it for you?'. That really turned me off. But luckily I don't have any problems or requests. |

What is the block of code on line #319 in functions_post.php? Maybe post a few lines before 319 and after it as well. |
