Despite owning 28.4% of the popular classifieds site, eBay is suing Craigslist to "safeguard its four-year financial investment." eBay asserts Craigslist management has made decisions that ultimately diluted the worth of its investment. Speculation abounds since the court case remains sealed, but one could ponder if eBay is taking the first step towards a possible hostile takeover.
No details of those actions were given by eBay. In its company blog, Craigslist said it was surprised and disappointed by eBay's "unfounded allegations". The company said eBay's legal action "came to us out of the blue".

Guess EBAY is afraid of competition. Personally I like CraigsList better since I can localize the search. At least I can go see the item and talk direct to seller. Let's see if ebay can do that! EB has turned into a ripoff, over-priced, garbage site.

It's ridiculous in IMO. An investor suing the company they're investing in? Huh?? If you're not happy with their financial performance, sell the stock. Real simple. Those of us that invest don't have the option to sue the company if it doesn't perform as well as we expected. Why should a company that's invests in one?

Just 10% huh? Oh, wait, more than 10 %. The suit is not filed against Craigslist, the suit is filed against people who use Craigslist. Seen as how users of eBay have stated complaints on eBay's new policy changes and now this, there seems to be some vulnerability. I wonder if eBay is a monopolizing online auctioning? Maybe a law suit should be filled on this allegation.

Hm. Boohoo, poor eBay. Perhaps if they changed their auction policies and dropped their rates a little bit. They might get people going back to their site instead of finding less expensive alternatives to sell stuff.
