AOL Blocks Comcast, Roadrunner Emails

America Online is now rejecting "suspicious" emails delivered directly from residential Comcat and Roadrunner IP addresses . AOL and Comcast will be blocking emails originating from personally hosted mail servers.

"Those customers who are using their own residential mail relays to send e-mail to AOL members have been identified by their dynamically assigned IP addresses as a source of spam by our members, and we have taken action to thwart their illicit activity to protect our members' online experience," AOL spokesman Nicholas Graham said.

I think this is great. I've already got my filters to block CC and RR, as well as Hotmail and the other spamster-prevalent e-mail domains. The ISPs are the ones at fault.

%SYSTEMROOT% is the root of all evil. Muhahaha.

Yeah, this explains why I had problems sending email to one of my friends on AOL. I suspected something like this when I researched it on AOL's support. It said something about dynamic IP addresses and relaying. I have RR. :\ Although I have a dynamic IP address my IP hasn't changed probably in about 6 months.

I mainly use my webmaster website email address which just uses RR server to send mail and not receive mail. I can't stand this anti-spam movement.

Now maybe AOL will realize why so many of us have left and gone to rr or cc. Family and friends cannot be contacted now -- maybe they will change too!
