Does your area have those speeds or is that the speedboost giving you that result?
Comcast gives 16 mbps downsteam and 1 mbps upstream or 12 Mbps downstream 384 Kbps upstream depending on package in those competing areas with something faster than comcast. For other areas, you get speedboost. Which can result in a quick download with that speed or maybe you will get emails pretty quick etc.
In special areas which comcast seems to give all the best stuff to are up to around 20-22 Mbps downstream and 2 Mbps upstream. Which isn't likely anything most comcast users will ever see in the near future. Unless of coarse comcast is forced to compete and give you more than 6 Mbps downstream 384 Kbps or 8 Mbps downstream and 768 Kbps depending on the package your paying for. However those users get the speedboost, the ones competing get the higher speeds all the time. We get it for a second or two and not for every file.

i dont think it is "speed boost" since when i download files it always downloads above 1000kb/s
but i have recently heard of speed boost and i know what you are talking about
