Just a more recent shot of the '88 Jeep Comanche after I've put some TLC into it over the past year or so. Parts are hard to come by, so having a family member in the junkyard business over in Utah really helped with finding some rare parts.

What do ya think?

Nice looking vehicle for pushing 20 years of service.

10+

Sand all the body work down and go to Maaco and get it painted Jet Black!

Needs more of an off-road look. I like the Jet Black idea, but a matte finish would be kickass. Then you finish it off with some black bead-lock wheels and some custom suspension, body, and engine work. Shouldn't run you more than $10k if you do it all yourself.

4.7L stroker motor pushing out 270hp/340+ ftlbs torque = 2k

33's + 4-5 inch lift = 2k

Dana44 / Ford 8.8 = 1k

Paint & body repairs = 1k

Not that bad

I am thinking something a little different. Paint job, drop springs, and forced induction.

Definitely forced induction. Nice Comanche Solo.

As far as drop springs go, max drop I'm looking at safely is 1.5"-2" up front and IIRC, 2" out back. Leafsprings out back of course though.

I still want to get some addco front and rear sway bars. My Gabriel VST shocks are pretty good as is, but some bilsteins or eibachs couldn't hurt

Also want to go with a 225/60/16 tire in the future. But I'm liking these 235/70/15's.

As far as forced induction, good ol Kenne Belle had a SC kit that was routinely pumping out 250hp/300+ftlbs of torque on stock motors IIRC. Combine that with an extremely flat torque band from 1500-5000rpm in a truck that weighs roughly 2900lbs and you've got one fast ride.
