I've been reconditioning this old beastie for the last 3 years.

Replaced & reconditioned the forks.
New windshield.
New stator.
Rewired half the harness.
New battery.
New front disks and pads all around.
New Bridgestone Spitfire SII tires.
Replaced 10" rise handlebars with 3" rise.
Carburetors rebuilt and upped the main jets a bit.
Had the seat re-upholstered.
All that is left to do is a paint job.

Approx. ¼ mile in 12.4 seconds (new)
A whopping 87 horsies @ 8000 rpm under the tank.

35,929 km
or
22,325 miles

I've owned a 77' (black) & 81 (silver) CB750F Super Sport. Bought new.

The 81' I turned into a track/road bike with only $32,000 invested after the purchase of the bike. Got my racing licence, entered 1 race in an unlimited 750cc class, did poorly so chalked it up to experience and became a road racer instead. That was a fun bike. I had to practically stand on the front axle to keep the front down. Wouldn't even leave the line if I wasn't holding 4500rpm when I let off the clutch.

The GS1000L performs like a moped in comparison.

It'll do for now.

Great job on the restoration!

12.5's may not be fast for a bike, but it is more than fast enough for the street

Sweet! Those were the days.

When I went shopping for bikes last year I had been out of the loop for 20 years -- I imagined that the metrics (Jap bikes) would be up to V6 3000cc monsters by now but was dissapointed to see all the V-twin HD look-alikes in the touring class. Whatever happened to the vision of making a pure simple mechanically sound motorcycle like the one you have?

Yeah yeah there's the Honda old geeser line but sheese.... I don't want a car with only 2 wheels

I'm riding HDs now: underpowered, overweight, ready to fix from the factory (Harley Tax), but I love um [and all other TWVs (Two Wheel Vehicles)] and if the front end comes off the ground --I'm doing something wrong.

I like the old bikes. Technology I can understand and do most of the mechanics myself. Not riding since 84' this is a test bike to see if I still have the bike enthusiasm I use to have. The enthusiasm seems to be linked to how deep the wallet is. lol

New tires installed. Bridgestone Spitfire SII's. Tried them out in the rain last night from Vernon to Kelowna and back. (Stopped off for a beer at a buddies place in Kelowna) Good grip on the long hwy corners at 90mph. The wet road snakes gave me a little trouble after 90.

Spitfire SII's get a thumbs up.

Price of tires - $198.00
Installation cost of $146.00, gets the thumbs down.

Knowing I was going to do a rain test of the tires I thought some riding boots would be in order. Picked up Alpinestar Web Gore-tex boots. $246.00 CAN. Ouch!

The rain gear was bought last fall. I duplicated the gear I bought for work last spring since I was so impressed with the performance of the rain gear at work. Waterproof Breathable Jacket style instead of the coat style. Carhartt makes great rainwear. A little expensive at $350.00 for jacket and pants but worth every penny.

Nothing cheap about this hobby.

Now I get to wash the bike after last nights ride. What a mess.

Next I need a good leather jacket . I'm sure that will be cheap.

Ah yes. The laid back brother to the cb750F.

Why did you sell it?
