to get a tombstone for just your arm.

Here lies the left arm of Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson. He was shot in the arm twice by his own men accidentally, causing him to lose his arm via amputation. It was buried in Chancellorsville, VA

Stated by Robert E. Lee regarding the loss of Jackson's arm
He has lost his left arm but I my right.

That's pretty cool! I would love to visit those states that were a part of the Civil War and of course The Revolutionary war. Farthest east I've been was Chicago. (Family lives there currently)

Eight days after his arm was amputated, Jackson died of complications of pneumonia on May 10, 1863.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_...all%22_Jackson

" War means fighting. The business of the soldier is to fight. Armies are not called out to dig trenches, to throw up breastworks, to live in camps, but to find the enemy and strike him; to invade his country, and do him all possible damage in the shortest possible time. This will involve great destruction of life and property while it lasts; but such a war will of necessity be of brief continuance, and so would be an economy of life and property in the end."

—Jackson

Wonder if the Germans during WWII got this idea to create their blitzkrieg tactic?
