This is my current wallpaper. Full size of this is 1280x960. This is just a "window" cropped from the larger original.

Just a single vector shape did this. I rotated and copied the shape with transform then redid that transformation numerous times. Ended up with an extremely complex web of vector lines. Then a little masking, then choose an area to cut from the image, and that's it.
