Not teasing ya am I GZ ? lol
I bought the Casio QV-4000 for its ability to go totally manual. I go over my User Guide every now and then and add to my knowledge of using the camera. I've worked mainly with medium format cameras. My fav was the Bronica GS1. Now I have one of these idiot proof digital cameras. Not totally idiot proof though since it has the capability of going manual.
I used my mouse as the centre of interest testing out some unused settings on my digital camera. Primarily I was working out some non flash lighting effects with my digital camera. Tripod, Maglite pen light, keyboard lighting, fluorescent lighting. Working with Macro and settings for aperture priority. With aperture priority the shutter speed slows down thus necessitating the tripod. Shot at 1/13 of a second at F2.0, macro focus.
A little bit of touch-up with Photoshop and I thought the shot came out looking pretty good.
As well, I've been experimenting with external flash application. The little flash on the front of my Casio QV-4000 is terribly inefficient after 10 feet and max's out @ 13.8 feet. This is the same for most digital cameras on the market today. I'm going to mount my camera on a "L" shaped flash bracket that includes a pistol grip and terminal sync'ed hot shoe for the 285 flash.
If I set the vari sensor to an auto distance setting and the auto distance is of a certain predetermined minimum and maximum distance, and the auto setting dictates the aperture setting for that range of good exposure, I set the camera accordingly, and it works flawlessly. The accessories I'm using are found cheaply at any photography accessory outlet. Most of us have an external flash kicking around unused. You’ll need a flash unit with sensor or flash power adjustment to make it really easy like I have here.

Vivitar SC3 Vari Sensor Adapter extension cord
SL2 Flash Trigger http://beemerworld.com/techimo/vivit...sh_trigger.jpg
6' flash sync cord
Flash tripod
For indoor shots, bouncing off the ceiling is working the best so far.
Cheers!

I'm liking the mouse, more and more each day. I especially like how I can re-program the function buttons. In Photoshop I found it useful to reprogram the "Switch Application" button into an "Undo" button.
The scroll wheel acting as normal + the side-ways scroll with left or right pressure is great when editing photos.
The Forward button is kind of hard to reach from a comfortable grip on the mouse.
The foot pads are a little large which can create drag on most mouse surfaces. On arborite, this isn't a concern. Especially after Pledge furniture waxing the arborite.
Quite happy with this rodent.
Cheers!

I've owned it for over a year now and I wouldn't give it up. The new Logitech G7 is a disappointment. Now if they redesign the MX1000 including BlueTooth they have me buying.
Another thing I would change would be the battery. I would make it double A rechargeable. I figure the mouse will outlast the internal battery pack.

Oh, they do! :-) It's the MX5000.
I too find that the forward button is difficult to press. I have to move my hand almost completely off the mouse to be able to hit it. Otherwise, I have zero other complaints.
And nice pic, Beem! :-)

The MX5000 is a keyboard that comes as a package including the MX1000 mouse. The keyboard seems to be the BlueTooth enabled device in the package.
Thanks for the compliments on the pic. Always appreciated.

Nah, it's both the mouse and keyboard that are bluetooth.
From the link above:
"Package Contents:- MX™ 5000 keyboard for Bluetooth®
- MX™ 1000 Laser mouse for Bluetooth®"
