Makes me miss my [chit]vette, or DeathMobile as so effectionately referred to by others. 1982 Chevette, blue, 1 duct-tape window (after 6 months of ownership), 3 sets of brake pads in the same time, and a great pair of broken shocks that were never repaired so I could make it "bounce" to the home-wired house stereo in the hatchback while crusing "the strip" and feeling left out by the other, much more expensive, bouncers.
Ahh, what a laugh. And I only paid $1 for it! At 95 mph it would hold up, but you couldn't tell what on earth was behind you by looking into the mirrors at that speed.

Are sure that's an 81? I had an 81 and it had frameless windows.
Awesome nonetheless.

Whir...No. but i am pretty sure. This was my high school and after car. I had it in southern california. Used to pile 7 people in there, took it off road in the mud, bypassed the heater core so i didnt have to replace it, drove it for about a year on a bad rear bearing until it finaly went out, had an old T-Shirt as a seat cover, rebuilt the carb my self that lasted 6 months until i had to get a rebuilt one from another shop, and so on. The car held up through alot of abuse. I miss her.
