Not really pets. More like buddies. They would come to visit and chow down. 6 squirrels, 2 blue jays, my cat, my cockatiel, and starlings. The starlings would sing Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer until I came out. Karak taught it to them. I'd bring out a bowl of water, hold it in my hand and the starlings would land on my arm and walk down to the bowl for a drink. They would hang around until I brought out the honey seeds for their afternoon treat.
The blue jays would come in the screen door as I always left it ajar for the cat to get to the litter box.
My room mate would come home in the afternoon and see me sitting on the couch, a blue jay at my feet, Karak on my shoulder and a squirrel or 2 on the end table attacking the peanut dispenser.
He'd just shake his head....lol Karak and the blue jays would drink water out of the cats double sided dish while the cat fwas trying to eat.
The apartment I was living in had a treed common area which backed onto a woodlot. Lots of animals around.
I had pictures of all this animal kingdom but an old girlfriend and I broke up kind of on bad terms and I lost about 8,000 pictures. Pain in the butt.
