six flags and Cedar Point always charged that much per bottle... its a rip off, but when you are in line for a ride on a hot day, you dont have much of a choice...

The choice is pretty easy for me, and luckily my kids follow suit. Soda doesn't really quench my thirst, it just tricks my mouth into thinking so for a short while. Only water cures my thirst fully and for any length of time.

Open bottle slowly lmao.
16 oz, $3.25 = roughly $.20 an ounce. Some guy probably didn't open it slowly, spilled half his pop, and went on a suicidal rampage taking 11 with him at the last Six Flags.

Odds are Coca-Cola is not benefiting from the additional cost. Coca-Cola is receiving the same money per bottle as usual, meaning the vendor is solely pocketing the markup. There is little doubt that soft drink manufacturers have created artificial market inflation, but to properly assign blame in this instance, Six Flags is the source of the price fixing - park rules assign supply to a single source, the park itself, thus creating a local distribution monopoly inside the park.
Amusement parks for the most part are extremely overpriced. One would think they already make enough money on admission tickets, but that is not enough for their often inflated profit margins, so they continue the price gouging inside the park as well.

Actually Robb, most theme parks don't make HUGE profit margins. Most theme/amusement parks around the world today are struggling, especially in foreign countries. And with the oil crisis, I bet these parks are expecting to lose big.
I still think $3.25 is rediculous, but it's not like Six Flags = Exxon or anything.

I didn't mean to imply Coca-Cola, or any other beverage company to be behind the price. I know that's all Six Flags' doing. But I did mean to ask how long before this current "Convenience" price (as in not having to walk back out to your car because you can't bring it in with you price) becomes the everyday price in the normal market due to inflation, a factor pushed by much more than Coca-Cola's will alone. (er, well, actually I doubt they have much of a desire for inflation at all...so that didn't sound right either)
And some of the gouging prices seem to work quite well for them, as the lines at many of the restaraunts, despite what I would consider insane prices, remain steady. I'm sure there are some completely functional math models that have resulted in maximizing profits with their outrageous prices. Until people "just say no", the absolute maximum will continue to stay quite high.
